What is your relationship with the land?

My relationship with the land is that of appreciation. I have lived within Treaty No.7 for most of my adult life and the western prairies provide so much for the people living here. The land drastically changes throughout the seasons, providing different harvesting, foraging and ceremonial practice. Myself and my partner set out to collect anytime we go out for walks and it brings us closer to each other and this special place we get to call home.

My work often relates back to my name WÁPOSH “rabbit” and therefore I would like to showcase rabbits among our local flora like white sage, prairie smoke, etc. something that highlights all the beauty or the natural world.
